Core Concepts
We think that goal-oriented dialogue is needed in order to solve complex social problems. As there is an inherent tension between dialogue and goal-orientation, well designed processes are needed to make it happen: “dialogue-enhancing solution processes”.
When working with the leaders of communities or organizations, we first create awareness around the difference between debate/discussion and dialogue.
The Perspectivity Game is a powerful method of bringing the need for dialogue in solving complex social problems to the attention of large groups of people.
As our world is changing, so is the way we teach our children. Perspectivity School offers 12-18 year olds a day’s learning experience in complex problems – and how to use dialogue to get out of them.
Uncertainty over the future often makes parties hold on to their "one best solution", blocking dialogue. We use Scenario-building as a process to engage stakeholders and create insight in the problem. When the step from insight to action has to be made, we advice "whole-system-in-the-room" processes such as Future Search. They make parties discover their common ground and turn ideas into action.
Perspectivity has knowledge of these processes and, together with leading experts in the field, can offer support in applying them in a way that suits any situation.
